Day Camp FAQs

1.    Are all the camps located on the ISU campus?
Yes, Cyclone Soccer Day Camp is held at the Cyclone Soccer Complex.

2.    What should my child wear to Day Camp?
Players are required to wear shinguards and cleats. Players should wear shorts and a T-shirt, but should pack something warm to wear in the case of cooler weather or rain. Please bring a change of sneakers.  Players should also bring a snack.

3.    Do Day Campers need to bring a snack?
All day campers should bring a snack for our break time. The ISU staff will not provide snacks.

4.    Does my child need to bring water?
Water stations will be placed on the field and water will always be available for the campers at all times.

5.    What does each camper receive?
Each day camper will receive a camp T-shirt.

6.    My child is a goalkeeper. Will you have goalkeeper coaches for his or her specialized training?   
Yes, goalkeeper training will be conducted during each day camp by our excellent goalkeeping staff.

7.   What happens if my child is injured or sick during camp?
Qualified trainers will be on duty for the duration of all camps to care for minor injuries and illness. Parents or guardians will be contacted immediately if there is a serious injury or a child needs to leave camp early for a medical reason. Please make a notation on the health form if there is any medical condition we should be aware of in advance of the camper's attendance to our soccer camps. Our athletic trainer will be available for questions on the first day of each camp and throughout the week.

8. If it rains, will camp be canceled?
No, camp will not be canceled.  In case of inclement weather, the camp will be held in Lied Recreation Building or the Bergstrom Indoor Athletic Facility.

9. Are there any discounts?
Yes, the first registered camper will pay the full tuition; each sibling thereafter receives a $10.00 discount from the full tuition.

Residential Camp FAQs

1.    Are all the camps located on the ISU campus?
Yes, all camps are conducted on the ISU campus.  All training sessions and games will be played on ISU Athletic facilities including the ISU Soccer stadium field and training field.

2.    Where does my child stay during the week?
All residential campers stay on the ISU campus at the Larch-Willow-Maple Dorm Complex.

3.    Are the dorm rooms air-conditioned?
Yes, all the dorms are air-conditioned.

4.    What does each camper receive?
Each camper receives will receive a camp T-shirt and a written evaluation.

5.    My child is a goalkeeper. Will you have goalkeeper coaches for his or her specialized training?   
Yes, goalkeeper training will be conducted during the Residential Training camp week by our excellent
goalkeeping staff.

6.   What happens if my child is injured or sick during camp?

7.    Is there a camp store?  How much money should I bring?
Yes, the camp store will be open specific hours during the week.  The store will sell drinks and snacks.  Pizza will also be available for purchase after the nightly matches.  We recommend you bring $30.00 for extra spending money.

8.    Can I request a roommate? Can friends have a room near each other?
Yes, we will honor roommate requests in nearly every case. We will also try to locate friends near each other.

9.  What is the best airport to fly into?
Des Moines International Airport is conveniently located in Des Moines, IA and is 30 minutes from campus. Transportation to and from the the Des Moines Airport can be arranged prior to arrival by contacting the Camp office here.

10.  Can a camper arrive late or leave early?
Yes, this happens each year with tournaments and other camps.  Please notify the Camp Directors well in advance of such an event.

11.    Are linens provided?
No, campers should sheets and blankets or a sleeping bad plus a pillow and some towels.

12.    What happens if a camper fails to turn in his/her key at check-out?
The camper will be charge a lost key fee of $125.00.

13.    Can parents watch?
Yes, parents are encouraged to attend the nightly matches.
